The work of the Data Governance Advisory Committee (DGAC) is designed to guide Georgetown to solutions that protect and leverage our data for the greater good of the university and its mission.

Composition
- Advisory Committee of administrators from each major university data stakeholder
- Steering Committee of Vice Presidents of various departments that create or analyze key university data
- Working groups tasked by the committee to complete specific projects
- Oversight of the committee by the Executive Vice Presidents and SVP/COO
- Day to day operations jointly overseen by UIS and OADS committee chairs
Goals
- Serve as the centralized hub for documenting people, process, and technology integral to the university’s data strategy
- Coordinate Georgetown’s efforts to ensure quality, valid data is provided to campus stakeholders through effective data governance
- Implement technology improvements that more effectively leverage our data assets
